STREET LIGHT CONTROLLERS

Control streetlights remotely
Monitor failures in real-time
Increase security
Minimize legal exposure
Optimize maintenance schedules
NTCIP Compatible

he most intelligent street lighting control system is born. Thanks to the innovative Dimonoff® Technology, this new Dimonoff® system can control and monitor remotely the condition of an almost unlimited number of streetlights. By monitoring/controlling the lamps usage and failures in real time you get many new exciting benefits:

  • Increase electrical safety through ground fault monitoring
  • Minimize light pollution by adjusting the lighting power according to the traffic load
  • Increase energy savings through sophisticated multi-parameter control
  • Reduce maintenance costs by giving better information to contractors
  • Increase homeland security (all lights ON or OFF depending on the threat)
Unlike streetlights that are controlled by photocells, those with the Dimonoff® system can respond to schedules set for any time of the night.

Communications are encrypted. The Dimonoff® system uses Power Line technology to communicate, over the AC power lines, between their control modules retrofitted in the poles of the streetlights and a gateway, typically located in the local transformer station.

One unique advantage of Dimonoff® over other control network technologies for street lighting applications is its strong signal that allows the communication between each node, such as a streetlight products family.

A WAN technology is used to link the gateway to the server software. The operator can access the server software over the Internet and can thus control and monitor the streetlights from a remote location.

Dimonoff® Technology offers a complete networking platform with reliable communication and excellent range at a competitive price.

The early positive response from the market also serves to validate this choice.

The rapid development of this end-to-end system was made possible by combining the expertise of Cristal Controls in intelligent product development and the simplicity of Dimonoff® technology.

With energy prices and other costs rapidly increasing, municipalities and utilities need solutions that will increase their internal efficiencies. The Dimonoff® street lighting control system offers such a solution.

Benefits

  • Low acquisition cost.

  • Save Energy and Money. Load shed by switching off lighting circuits in the early morning hours.

  • Reduce peak demand by time-staggering circuit switching.

  • Eliminate day-burning lamps. System reports day burning lights allowing repairmen to correct problem and save energy cost.

  • Track energy usage. Develop energy use profiles of services or branch circuits to develop proposed rate structures and evaluate equipment and lighting efficiencies. Ability to sub-meter energy.

  • Reduce manpower and increase reporting accuracy. Fault detection and reporting is automated.

  • Increase safety and minimize legal exposure. Any circuit outage, ground fault, and lamp failure is automatically detected thereby reducing Mean-Time-To-Repair with a net result of higher lighting availability and quick elimination of electrical hazard.

  • Improve Asset Management. Compare equipment life-span to manufactures' warranties. Track repairs and inventory. Reduce luminary component damage due to lamp cycling/failure.

  • Improve Maintenance Management. Track contractor performance.

  • Easy to install. The Sensor uses the low voltage AC network to transmit its metering data. No additional wiring is required thereby reducing installation costs.

  • Growth. The system can address multiple applications simultaneously. A system can be initially installed with the intent of one application, and grow over time with additional applications.

  • Comprehensive Platform. The system is a complete end-to-end solution, from field sensors to End-Users on the Internet.

  • Scalable. The system is highly scalable from tens of monitored points to millions of monitored points.

  • Complies with the emerging industry Standards for Electrical and Lighting Management Systems.
