TECHNOLOGY

An SCR power switch differs from other switches in fast action. For example, while a contactor may cycle 3 times per minute, a Cristal Controls SCR may cycle approximately once per second. This fast SCR cycle time results in a final temperature much closer to the desired set point and reduces energy costs.

The SCR modulates small increments of power to the load, unlike traditional mechanical control, and eliminates the overshoot and undershoot associated with contactor's control.


ZERO-CROSSING SCR Series

Cristal Controls Zero-cross Fired Power Controllers are ideal for the control of pure resistant loads that can accommodate fast, full power, ON-OFF cycling.

When coupled with a time proportioning control, they operate in a series of full ON-OFF cycles known as time proportioning burst firing. The time proportional control accepts the control output signal and converts it into a time proportional signal determining the amount ON and full OFF cycles produces a smooth power output to the load (heater) and stabilizes temperature.

Difference between SCR and SCR NEMA4
NEMA-4 SCR are designed so the heat sink is completely outside the enclosure and all the electronic controls are located inside the enclosure.

PHASE ANGLE SCR Series

Cristal Control Phase Angle controls provide smooth proportional output from 0 to 100%.

They are designed to make available low cost high quality SCR phase control. This series offers variable voltage outputs for many applications.

We control load current from 15 amps to 750 amps at line voltage from 120 to 600 volt VAC.

A soft start (5 seconds) feature assures a slow rising output voltage to prevent saturation of inductive loads. The 5 seconds soft start is active on power up and is reset after a power loss. Custom programmation is available. Contact us for more information.
